Admissions

BVS seeks students from diverse social and cultural backgrounds who demonstrate a desire to continuously learn and grow. Admissions for the new academic session across grades 1-8 start on Chaitra 1 as per the Nepali calendar (mid March) each year. Our academic session commences in Baisakh (mid April) each year. Plus 2 admissions for the new academic session start in Asadh as per the Nepali calendar (mid June) each year and the academic session commences in Shrawan (mid July) each year. We accept registrations for grades 1-8 and grade 11 only, as per availability of seats and suitability of students.

ADMISSION PROCESS & POLICY:

The candidate/parent should fill the 'Application for Registration' and submit to the School Admissions Office along with the prescribed Registration Fee and the following documents:

  1. Birth Certificate (Issued by local government- ward office, rural municipality etc)
  2. Two recent passport size colored photographs of the candidate.
  3. Copy of Parent’s citizenship or passport.
  4. Copy of latest Marksheet and other school issued certificates (character/ recommendation/ transfer). For grade 2 and above.
  5. To apply for admission to grade 1, a candidate's age on their birth certificate should show at least 5 and a half years complete. With each passing grade, the minimum age required increases by one year.

After submitting the registration form along with the above mentioned documents, parents should attend the admission info session of the school. Accepted candidates for grade 3 and below can pay the admission fees and confirm the admission. Candidates for grades 4 and above have to sit for an admissions aptitude test on the given date. Only after getting the results of the test and subject to availability of seats on a first come first serve basis will the candidate be offered a seat. Payment of admissions fees upon verification of documents will only confirm the admission.

Please note that no refund will be made under any condition once admission is confirmed.

 

SCHOLARSHIPS POLICY:

All the scholarships will be provided up on application along with supporting documents. School’s selection committee has the right to accept or reject the scholarship applications. Children of Brihaspati Vidyasadan Alumni: 50% on Tuition. Siblings of Same Parents: 15% on tuition.

Admission is given on the basis of an Entrance Examination which is mandatory, comprehensive, and has to be cleared on the basis of marks secured in the exam. A personal interview closely conducted by the School Management is compulsory for all students accompanied by their parents.

As part of the application approval process, all children have to participate in an age-appropriate entry assessment for basic math, languages (English and Nepali) and social interaction. This is needed to ensure a smooth and fully supported transition to the school and is by no means a “pass/fail” test. Parent interviews will also take place to ensure that their outlook towards education is in alignment with the school’s values and learning goals.

No. The school believes that every child should have a right to apply to KWS, and does not seek any form of monetary reimbursement for the process.

The official admission process begins from 1st Chaitra every year but as the seats are limited, you will be able to reserve seats prior to the date once you are notified of your child’s selection.

Yes, our school offers varied scholarships to students on a need-cum-merit basis.

Scholarships are provided on the basis of merit as well as criteria set by NEB. Student candidates are required to appear in scholarship exams held by the school for which the school admission desk provides you with the dates and time of exam. Selection is transparent and fair and thus, it is mandatory to pass out the scholarship exams.
