About Us

History

 

    Bidhya Sagar E.B. School was established in 2056 BS with a perspective of enhancing critical and creative minds who can face the multifarious challenges in practical life in an ever increasingly complex and competitive world. Along with the takeover of this school by the new Management Committee since 2069 BS, the school has made a great leap in innovative and creative academic arena having 450 students and 40 staff including teaching and non-teaching both. The school has successfully felicitated eight batches of SEE graduates so far with outstanding academic excellence.

The school is committed to shoulder the process of nation building and social change through innovative and creative education to its students with the support of parents and the stakeholders. The school is including Montessori wing with best designed classroom from the Academic Session-2077 as well.

Bidhya Sagar School student Ms Ashaswi Karki set the record in its history in the SEE of 2074 with outstanding result. The highest GPA is 3.95 which is the highest in Gokarneshwor Municipality itself.

Admissions

Admissions are open with limited seats from grade I to VIII. Admission forms are made available from the school and the for admission, prospective guardians are allowed to visit our school throughout the month of Magh to Chaitra. Admission is granted on the basis of entrance test and practical activity, followed by interview with the students and their guardians. Offer letter from the school assures admission to a child within a time frame.

Admission is given on the basis of an Entrance Examination which is mandatory, comprehensive, and has to be cleared on the basis of marks secured in the exam. A personal interview closely conducted by the School Management is compulsory for all students accompanied by their parents.

As part of the application approval process, all children have to participate in an age-appropriate entry assessment for basic math, languages (English and Nepali) and social interaction. This is needed to ensure a smooth and fully supported transition to the school and is by no means a “pass/fail” test. Parent interviews will also take place to ensure that their outlook towards education is in alignment with the school’s values and learning goals.

No. The school believes that every child should have a right to apply to KWS, and does not seek any form of monetary reimbursement for the process.

The official admission process begins from 1st Chaitra every year but as the seats are limited, you will be able to reserve seats prior to the date once you are notified of your child’s selection.

Yes, our school offers varied scholarships to students on a need-cum-merit basis.

Scholarships are provided on the basis of merit as well as criteria set by NEB. Student candidates are required to appear in scholarship exams held by the school for which the school admission desk provides you with the dates and time of exam. Selection is transparent and fair and thus, it is mandatory to pass out the scholarship exams.

Facilities

The school is committed to provide healthy and hygienic meals to the children. We are aware that a variety of well- balanced and nutritious diet is an absolute requirement for both physical and intellectual growth of children. Meals are prepared under hygienic conditions in our modern kitchen by trained staff under the direction/supervision of a professional chef and dietitian.

Boarding facilities (full and partial). 

Bidhya Sagar English Boarding School has got good facilities of hostel. The hostel building is next to the school building. It is well facilitated. There are 4 main staff  in hostel where there are two teachers and two sisters to assist the students. Now there are 25 students living in hostel in friendly environment. All the staff give proper individual care to all students as their own children. They are getting the warm feelings, affection and love as in their homes. Once a week, the students are taken for field visit, tour, etc.

To increase self-reading habit of students, BSEBS has a library containing the collection of more than 1000 reference books and materials, story books, magazines etc. Every class is scheduled to be in library at least once a fortnight and/or in leisure period. According to their interests, they can study silently without any disturbance to their friends. If any student loses and damages and kinds of a library books and any other materials, s/he should be responsible for paying the replacement cost of the thing. Students can take any book from library for a week.

The school has an infirmary service to ensure that student remain safe and healthy. The infirmary attends to minor illnesses and gives first aid services to any student in need. In cases of serious injury or illness, parents are notified and the student is referred to a hospital.

As multimedia and visual classes are essential in the present context of learning, BSEBS has Computer science classes from Grade I-VIII only. The students are brought to computer lab once a week for their computer practical. There are audio classes in pre-primary level twice a week. The students from class I to X are taught through power point presentation by individual subject teachers. And the students from I to VII are regularly taught through Midas-e-class learning turn by turn in different subjects. In addition to the regular classes, the schools providing opportunities to students for motivational videos, counselling classes and some instructional/motivational documentaries time and again.

We provide counselling service focusing on personal and intellectual development of an individual. This counselling service is aimed to help our students, parents and teachers develop positive learning experiences.


Birthday Celebration

Children get much excited at the celebration of birthdays. BSEBS doesn’t allow celebration (cutting cake, giving gifts etc.) in schoolboy the friends for nay students. But for the students of class Nursery to class 2, the school collects dates of birth and calls a parent to school for his/her child’s birthday on the appointed date and gives a cake decorated with the child’s name in it as a gift to take home. The school thinks it as a positive incentive to the parents. They are not allowed to cut it in school.

And on teachers’ birthdays, the school manages cake and celebrates the birthdays at the end of a day after all the classes of school are over.

ECA

As our slogan “Quality Education Competent Output”, CCA and ECA play vital role to make students competent in every sector. Therefore, BSEBS also conducts CCA/ECA programs class wise and house wise. There are many classes i.e. Dance, Music, Art Scout, Positive Vibration, Quiz, Debate, Handwriting, Essay Writing etc. from junior to senior level.

Outdoor Education (Field Trips)

We believe outside classroom education (Filed Trips) are integral parts of curriculum. The purposes of these activities are not only to educate our students about the culture and tradition, nature and environment but also help them develop their life skills.

Drama, Dance and Music

Particular emphasis is laid on drama, dance and music. Nepali and folk dance, Western music and dance, instrumental music, dramas and singing are offered to students to develop their knowledge and skills in every segment. Each child takes part in at least one activity at the annual cultural event to exhibit their confidence on stage.
